IT IS THE PEANUT'S KERNEL  SPLIT THROUGH ITS COTILEDONS.
The damages of split peanuts, are classified according the poossibility of being removed through a process, i.e.:
Type 1 Damaged kernels: Kernels or pieces of kernels that show alteration that cannot be removed through process, i.e: 
sprout, frost damage, insect damage, internal mould
Type 2 Damaged kernels: Kernels or pieces of kernels that show alteration that can be removed through process, i.e: 
heat damage, rotten or decay, external mould.
Based on above mentioned distinction, peanuts kernels are classified in 3 grades (qualities), i.e:

Common specifications for all grades:
1.1. Moisture: Maximum NINE PER CENT (9,0%).
2.2. Broken or splits kernels: maximum FOUR PER CENT (4,0%).
From October 1st till April 1st, tolerance is increased up to SIX PER CENT (6%)
2.3. Alive insect infestation.
2.4. Other colour kernels: Maximum ONE PER CENT (1%)
2.5. Altered kernels in its presentation, Maximum FIVE PER CENT (5%)
2.6. Earth: Maximu ZERO COMMA ONE PER CENT (0,1%).
3.0. Objectable smells : Free
4. Aflatoxine: (2 readings)
